Natural Disaster Recovery

Primary producers impacted by Tropical Cyclone Ita have access to a range of support, including concessional loans and freight subsidies.

Category B disaster assistance is available for the following 16 shires under standard Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements:

• Burdekin
• Cairns
• Cassowary Coast
• Cook
• Douglas
• Hinchinbrook
• Hope Vale
• Lockhart River
• Mackay
• Mareeba
• Palm Island
• Tablelands
• Townsville
• Whitsunday
• Wujal Wujal
• Yarrabah.

Under these arrangements, freight subsidies up to $5,000 and low-interest concessional loans from QRAA up to $250,000 are available for eligible applicants.
