QTPA Member Alert |TURF INDUSTRY CONCESSIONAL REGISTRATION

TURF INDUSTRY CONCESSIONAL REGISTRATION

At the last couple of Turf Queensland board meetings ‘Concessional Registration’ was discussed at length. It was agreed that we would approach the Queensland government Transport Department regarding registration of turf trucks for the delivery of the turf producers product as an accepted and documented “Primary Producer” within Hansard within the Queensland Parliament.

Having been transferred around to different departments and people within with no advancement, out of frustration we decided to undertake our own investigation and see what the result was.

Investigation from the QGAP facility in Gatton and being referred to Beaudesert as the main office, we were advised that we should bring a “Registration Concession Application ” form with your registration when it falls due and submit it accordingly. It would assist you to have available a copy of the Turf Queensland ‘Turf Alert’ (copy attached) referring to the Hansard documentation from Parliament regarding your status as a primary producer if needed..

It seems from discussions with a number of turf producers that the ruling on this varies from centre to centre and the “Registration Concession Application” is exactly that (an application for assessment) so it will be assessed by someone at some level within the Department.

For many turf producers they already operate under concessional registration and therefore it is obvious that they will continue with that process.

If you have any other advice to provide on this subject we would be grateful to receive that confidentially at your convenience by email: info@qtpa.com.au
