WHS Laws Effective 1 January 2012.

As previously advised to Turf Queensland members new Workplace Health and Safety Laws became effective on the 1st of January 2012.

In Queensland these laws can be downloaded from www.worksafe.qld.gov.au

The Model WHS Laws are available at: www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au

Whilst these laws are in effect in NSW, QLD, ACT,NT and the Commonwealth public sector, TAS,SA,VIC and WA are still to come into effect.  In some cases, current Codes of Practice and/or specific requirements in regulations are being maintained until an appropriate National Code is completely developed and endorsed.
