IPART – IPERT ASSESSMENT DATA
As you will all be aware the Department of Natural Resources and Mines over the past six years have supported Turf Queensland in undertaking both an irrigation performance audit (IPART) and irrigation pump evaluation audits (IPERT) on farms. Many of you will have benefited from these on farm assessments. We are now entering the next phase of this program.
It is interesting to note that the Irrigation Performance Audit was undertaken across 88 turf production farm sites, with the Irrigation Pump Evaluations undertaken across 57 turf production farm sites in the state of Queensland.
The findings in average terms from these valuable assessments are detailed below for your interest.
It would be interesting to compare your figures against the total averages from reports you would have received.
We have focused on Distribution Uniformity for the irrigator performance and Overall Efficiency for pump performance.
IPART (irrigation performance 88 irrigators)
Distribution Uniformity % | |
Maximum | 88.94% |
Minimum | 21.06% |
Median | 62.01% |
IPERT (irrigation pump evaluation 57 farms)
Overall Efficiency % | |
Maximum | 69.35% |
Minimum | 10.76% |
Median | 45.04% |
As you can see these figures are quite eye opening and inefficiency is something that relates directly to profit.
