TOTAL DWELLING UNITS
- The trend estimate for total dwellings approved rose 0.9% in May and has risen for six months.
- The seasonally adjusted estimate for total dwellings approved fell 5.2% in May after rising for two months.
PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES
- The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.2% in May and has risen for five months.
- The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector houses rose 0.1% in May following a fall of 1.8% in the previous month.
PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES
- The trend estimate for private sector dwellings excluding houses rose 1.6% in May and has risen for six months.
- The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector dwellings excluding houses fell 11.3% in May after rising for two months.
VALUE OF BUILDING APPROVED
- The trend estimate of the value of total building approved rose 1.0% in May and has risen for five months.
- The value of residential building rose 1.5% and has risen for six months.
- The value of non-residential building fell 0.2% and has fallen for eight months.
- The seasonally adjusted estimate of the value of total building approved fell 10.3% in May following a rise of 18.2% in the previous month.
- The value of residential building fell 6.4% after rising for three months.
- The value of non-residential building fell 18.5% following a rise of 47.7% in the previous month.
