Workplaces for Wellness’ funding available to rural industries
Workplaces in rural industries will soon be able to apply for up to $40,000 to implement health and wellbeing initiatives that address risk factors that can lead to chronic disease.
Applications can be made in March 2014 for projects targeting smoking, risky alcohol consumption, physical inactivity and poor nutrition. The grants help create healthy workplaces where workers engage in healthy lifestyle behaviours. These employees are nearly three times more productive and have reduced risks of injury than those with poor health.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland advisers can assist you in applying for this funding. Visit the Workplaces for Wellness website and download the Work Health Planning Guide (PDF, 1.27 MB) for information and practical examples of workplace wellness strategies.
